Position Summary:
STARPLUS ENERGY LLC is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operational and administrative functions essential to the success of the payroll process. The ideal candidate will possess organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for contributing to sustainable accounting practices. This position reports to the Accounting Director.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Process and control payroll for various types, including salaries, bonuses, overtime, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Supervise employee benefits for unionized and non-union personnel, ensuring adherence to legal and internal policies
- Coordinate with Human Resources to implement salary and benefits changes in a timely manner
- Manage the hourly timekeeping system and maintain accurate employee payroll information
- Assist with payroll tax filings, month-end close activities, and generate payroll reports for review
- Maintain internal controls, conduct regular audits of payroll information, and address any issues affecting payroll operations
- Perform other position related duties as assigned
Basic:
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
- Ability to work independently and multi-task
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Access, or other database applications
- Strong knowledge of SAP
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
Preferred:
- Bilingual English and Korean
- Master of Business Administration
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Ability and desire to identify opportunities for process improvements and enact change
Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
